The City of Griffin Board of Commissioners approved a special use permit to allow for a hospice at 1225 West Solomon St.

Eternal Hope Hospice requested the special use permit to build the hospice center on the vacant residential site. The 15.24-acre property will remain zoned Planned Residential Development.

According to the application filed by Eddie Grogan for Eternal Hope Hospice, the plan is to build a 7,000 square-foot building with 41 parking spaces fronting on West Broad Street and North 18th Street. The vacant single family structures on site will be renovated into cottages used by patients families and four more cottages may be built.
