TENNIS AT GRIFFIN CITY PARK:
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is hosting a Tennis Festival from 10 a.m., until 12:30 p.m., on Saturday at the Griffin City Tennis Courts, designed to showcase the fun and excitement of playing tennis, as well as sharing with parents the benefits of involving their children in the sport. Tennis Festivals welcome the whole family to play tennis at all skill levels. Parents and children are encouraged to participate and experience first-hand the way in which tennis is now sized right for their kid’s age and ability.
The Tennis Festival initiative launched during “Tennis Night in America” on March 4 at Madison Square Garden. Tennis Night in America featured the BNP Paribas Showdown with 2012 US Open champion and Olympic gold medalist, Serena Williams, against the world’s No. 1 woman player, Victoria Azarenka. In addition, former World No. 1 Rafael Nadal squared off versus former U.S. Open champion Juan Martin del Potro.
