The Spalding County Board of Commissioners on Thursday approved three zoning requests related to Lifesong Church.

Lifesong is looking to build a church on eight acres off Carver Road at the Pike County line, south of Carver Road Middle School. Senior Pastor Mark Jones said the church congregation currently meets in the Griffin Stadium Cinemas building.

The church is buying eight acres of a 62-acre tract off Moreland and Carver roads from Heritage Bank that went into foreclosure. Initial plans call for a 10,000-square-foot building on the 8-acre site.
