County backs Fairmont grant request

The Griffin Housing Authority is trying again for a grant to help restore the Fairmont community.

Housing Authority Chief Executive Officer Bob Dull said the authority has built a reserve balance of $1.3 million, some of which is being used for the demolition and redevelopment of Meriwether Homes.

“Fairmont Homes,” he said, “needed something put into it as well.”
