Spalding County is looking to save training money for use by the two new commissioners who start in January.

Commissioners Eddie Freeman and Bob Gilreath both lost in July 31 primary election. Bart Miller Jr. defeated Freeman for the District 4 post and will take office in January along with the winner of the District 3 election in November between Democrat Rita Johnson and Republican Michael Renew.

“I want to make sure we are providing for these new commissioners,”County Commission Chairman Gwen Flowers-Taylor said.
