Griffin Police Department (GPD) investigators have arrested four Griffin men in a Saturday shooting near the intersection of Tinsley Street and Fourth Street that killed 22-year-old Griffin rapper Jerode Paige, also known as Yung Hott, and left four more with non-life-threatening injuries, among them five-year-old Taylor Conwell.

According to GPD Chief C. Frank Strickland, the four suspects arrested are Bahir Howard, 22, Corderra Walker, 21, Terry James Fuller, 31, and Terrance Jones, 23. All of the suspects are from Griffin and all are being held without bond in the Spalding County Jail. They are charged with murder, aggravated assault, commission of a crime with a firearm and cruelty to children.

Howard and Walker were arrested immediately after being released from Spalding Regional Medical Center, where they were treated for gunshot wounds. Fuller and Jones were in custody by about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. No more suspects are being sought, Strickland said.

He said he would not reveal the name of the suspect who shot Paige until the case goes to court. He also said he couldn’t confirm whether Paige died from a shot in the head, as reported by other media, because the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently performing an autopsy on Paige.

Paige was fatally shot on Saturday at about 6 p.m. while filming a rap video at Arve’s convenience store.

“It was territorial,” said GPD Chief C. Frank Strickland when asked about the motive. Paige belonged to the “west side group of folks,” Strickland said, but was filming in the east side of town. “He was doing it in the wrong territory.”

Griffin is a small peaceful town compaired to other towns to our north, we dont need "gang" troubles here. The police, sheriff, and county law enforcement need to expend some of their resources to make it "TO HOT" for gangs running around in out town.

We the public dont need young people saying "their area" and making it dangerous for the public just to walk around and pay, or be shot, mugged, or beaten because the gangs dont own a "area" in this town. We the people do not them.

Bust and arest those "members" of the gangs and stop the drugs, shootings, that will help to return our peaceful town back to the beauty and safety that it should be.
