The Griffin Police Department (GPD) was dispatched to Regency Apartments at 1100 W. College St., Ext. A8, Tuesday at 5:45 a.m. in reference to an aggravated assault. As police officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with the victim, a 19-year-old black male.

The victim stated that he was riding his bicycle home from his girlfriend’s house, taking the path that connects the West College Street extension with the dead end of Cherokee, when he was confronted by three black males who were wearing all-black clothes.

According to a GPD incident report, one of the three suspects told the victim, “Gimme yo (expletive)!”

When the victim refused, a struggle began during which one of the suspects used a knife to cut the victim at his wrist. Police noted in the report that the victim had a bandage around his wrist when officers first saw him.
