The Griffin Ballet Theatre’s annual production of “The Nutcracker” starts Friday at the Griffin Auditorium on Taylor Street and continues through Sunday.

The first of a total of four performances of “The Nutcracker” begins Friday at 7:30 p.m., followed by two shows Saturday, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, and concludes with a final performance Sunday at 2 p.m.

More than 100 local performers, plus guest dancers from the Carolina Ballet Theatre in South Carolina and the Louisville Ballet in Kentucky, will be featured in this year’s Nutcracker.

Tickets can be bought at the Studio D School of Dance at 111 N. Hill St. — the home of the Griffin Ballet Theatre — or at the Griffin Auditorium on the day of the event.

Ticket prices are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and students for the front orchestra, $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students for the rear orchestra and $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students for the balcony.

The matinee show on Saturday will feature student ticket prices at $5 per person. It will also include a meet-and-greet with the cast of “The Nutcracker” after the performance as well as a visit from Santa Claus.
