Goodwin took the game into his own hands on New Creations first possession of the second half, handling 11 of 12 snaps and running all 70 yards to score his final touchdown. Junior Taylor Dunn intercepted a pass to set up a Griffin Christian drive at midfield in the final 12 minutes, but the Crusaders couldn’t convert and were forced to punt at midfield.
White, playing corner, deflected a third-and-long pass that would have all but put the game out of reach with 6:45 left, forcing New Creation to punt. Griffin Christian advance the ball to the New Creation 27 where on first down with 5:42 remaining in the game New Creation intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown to account for the game’s final margin.
CROWN ATHLETICS (JV) 44, FAITH CHRISTIAN 0: MARIETTA — Faith Christian Academy lost its first 11-man football game in school history 44-0 Friday against the Crown Athletics JV to end the season.
The Lions (3-4), which lost their second in a row, have up until now always played 8-man football. The highlight of the season for FCA was a three-game winning streak in the middle of the season.
