Spalding High senior Matt Himel signed a National Letter of Intent Friday morning at SHS to run cross country at Darton College in Albany this upcoming fall. Attending the brief signing ceremony with Himel were his parents Carolyn Ledet and Jim Ledet. Himel, who also runs on the school’s track team, competes on the school’s swim team as well where he became one of the first boys in the school’s history to qualify for state when the relay team he swam on qualified this season. Joining Himel and his parents at the ceremony were SHS cross country, track and swim coach Dolores Owen, SHS Principal Derrell Jeffcoat and SHS athletic director Jeff Hyland.
