“Cpl. Tishe Dyer, of the Special Investigation Unit, was able to negotiate Reeves into a peaceful surrender at the Police Department by using several contacts she had within the community,” said GPD Investigator Bryan Clanton.
Sgt. Karen Yancy, of the Griffin Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, said in an affidavit that Reeves caused Favors’ death by shooting him twice in the back with a .45-caliber pistol the night of July 21 in front of a residence at 324 N. Sixth St.
Favors was taken to the emergency room of Spalding Regional Medical Center, where he died due to his injuries.
