COVINGTON. Ga. — The Griffin High girls tennis team rebounded from a 5-0 subregion loss at Union Grove 48 hours earlier with a 4-1 subregion victory Thursday at Alcovy.

Rebecca Rose Hill (8-6), Emily Warwick (8-2) and Sarah Mallett (8-3) swept one through three singles, respectively, to lead the charge for the Lady Bears (3-1 overall, 1-1 Region 3-AAAA Division A).

Sarah Hill and Alex Smith also teamed up to score a point in doubles 8-6 for Griffin which continues its season Tuesday at home against Whitewater.

The GHS boys team also played Thursday, losing 4-1 to fall to 0-4 overall on the season and 0-2 in subregion play.

Dalton Vining scored Griffin’s lone points 8-1 in singles.
