The Lady Crusaders, who defeated The Weber School 43-34 on Thursday to exceed last season's win total of 2 games, had their two-game win streak snapped by Trinity, which won its first game to improve to 1-1 overall. GC falls to 3-2 on the season.
GC had problems scoring in the first half, thanks to pressure by Trinity and several missed shots by GC. Trinity had no such problems, as the Lady Lions scored 19 points in the first quarter and 13 in the second to take a 32-11 halftime lead.
The Lady Crusaders played much better in the third quarter, outscoring Trinity 12-5. GC went on an 8-2 run in the quarter and only trailed 37-23 heading into the fourth, the closest the Lady Crusaders got in the game. The Lady Lions started the fourth on a 10-2 run, however, breaking the game open. With 3:09 remaining in the game, Trinity led 47-27 and sealed the game.
Brittany Foster led GC with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Chelsey Deaton chipped in 6 points. Katy Hammond led GC in assists with 5. Sara Bryan of Trinity led all scorers with 19 points, followed by 13 from Ashley Caldwell and 12 from Kaley Grace.
Griffin Christian is back in action Dec. 4 at Westfield at 6 p.m.
