On Monday, Aug. 20, Robert Lee Seay, age 56 of 37 Johnston Road, Griffin, was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography by members of the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.
According the Sheriff’s Office, Seay was arrested following information from The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
“We started monitoring him,” said Sheriff Wendell Beam, and during the investigation, two separate pornographic videos were sent to an undercover agent “chatting” with Seay on the Internet.
During his arrest, Beam said, numerous movies and photographs of people under the age of 18 were found in Seay’s possession. Beam said Seay had not made contact with children, he just had the pictures and movies so at this point there are no additional charges.
