A 19-year old man was tased repeatedly and pepper sprayed before finally being subdued by police at a local motel.

Christopher Chantler Smarr, 19, of 130 S. Brawner St., Griffin, faces charges of felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer and battery following an altercation early Saturday morning at Griffin Inn and Suites that began as a domestic dispute.

Police responded to the motel about 12:47 a.m., Saturday, to hear a woman screaming several times for help. The first officer on scene climbed the stairs and observed a man later identified as Smarr standing over a woman who was laying on the ground, naked.
