The man was reportedly intoxicated and had been repeatedly advised to go home by the officer who had responded to the scene to disperse a large crowd coming out of Tequila Bar and Grill at about 2:30 a.m., Saturday. The officer, who was on patrol in the area, reportedly saw the large crowd and stopped to clear out the parking lot.
He reportedly observed several people arguing and heard someone yelling about a fight in the parking lot of the nearby Waffle House.
He reportedly observed about 10 black males fighting one black male, and with two other officers worked to disperse the fights. He approached one subject who reportedly appeared to be one of the aggressors in one of the fights and told him to find who he was riding with and leave.
The man reportedly turned to the officer and said, “I am grown, f--- the police.”
