A 35-year-old Griffin man turned himself in to the Griffin Police Department (GPD) late Tuesday afternoon after he was being investigated for kidnapping his daughter.

According to a GPD incident report, Renargo Hutcherson removed his 8-year-old daughter from Moore Elementary earlier that day despite a temporary protective order existing against him regarding the child and her mother.

Griffin-Spalding County Superintendent Curtis Jones said the school allowed the child to leave with her father because it was not informed of the temporary protective order.
