Mrs. Buford was born Jan. 8, 1931, in Brooks. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Leon Hardy and Grace Putman Hardy. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was a former PTA member at Orr’s Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Felecia Shell; and grandsons, Brandon Sealey and Scotty Roberson.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jackie Shell Roberson and Calvin “Eddie” Roberson, of Brooks; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Paula Shell, of Senoia; daughter and son-in-law, Denise Shell Oliver and David Oliver, of Brooks; and grandchildren, Tim and Lecrisha Reed and Brittany Guwin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Hardy Shell Buford will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, in the sanctuary of Fairview Baptist Church in Brooks. The Rev. Charles Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug, 15, at the funeral home.
