— Taxes on taxes. I am retired. I still work. I draw Social Security and they charge me a penalty because I earn over the poverty limit. They tax me. Then I pay taxes on my earnings. We should go to a true investment retirement plan. Pay on earnings, invest with a good mutual fund house and draw your earnings untaxed. We deserve a break.

— To the person who complained about My Two Cents contributors being “pro-Palin.”: Of course we are pro-Palin. Who wouldn’t be? And it is too bad that she is married, because I would like to go on a date with her.

— Great article Thurday, March 24, 2011, Page 13A. Griffin’s own Ty Magner currently rides for Team Type One, a national cycling team centered in Atlanta, with several Type 1 diabetics on the team. Griffin can be one of the top bicycle cities in Georgia. Let’s all cycle and share the road. Go Ty. You do us proud.

— According to one government employee, the director of Spalding County Parks & Recreation, run your vehicle for lubrication, regardless of the cost of fuel. You can say this if you are spending the taxpayers’ money.

— Don’t panic. The Run for Griffin is still on in a new format. It will be held on Oct 22, 2011. There will be a 5K walk and three different distance bicycle rides, and a fun ride for preschoolers. If we want to keep it going and provide so much support for Griffin’s charities, let’s all get behind the effort and become a sponsor and also participate in the event.

— To the South Sixth Street resident who said that animals are relieving themselves in his or her front yard: Why not make the best of the situation by starting a business where you charge pet owners a fee to allow their pets to use your yard as a rest room?

I read my two cents, and I thing Sarah Palin is an idiot. I'm offended by your assumption!
