— To solve the rising sea level problem why not ring the coastline with desalinization plants to process the water and pump it inland where it is needed. Using wind generators could provide power, just anchor them offshore.

— Reading the article about the city “rebranding,” I was reminded of an old expression “you can put a lot of lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig and looks like one.” The city needs to address some serious issues, not just whitewash the problems.

— Now that the old vacant green house on Pine Drive behind Goodwill and Hong Kong Restaurant has been torn down where will the rooster and the chickens live? Here it is Christmas time and they are homeless. Bummer.

— Read the article about the city “rebranding” the city image. How much did they spend on a consultant that was not mentioned in the information that was made public. Supposedly, it was $40,000. I could have done their new logo for $40 or any 10-year old could have done it for free.

— The Atlanta Falcons are for real.

— We need to get rid of all the guns. Too many people are getting killed.

— As to the resurfacing done on certain city streets recently, I don’t know that it was the most pressing need or that the funds used could not have been used better elsewhere, but the work was very nicely and professionally done and the resurfaced streets are an absolute joy to drive on.

— It is way beyond time to install metal detectors, armed officers or some other source of security at our schools here in Griffin-Spalding county school system, as well as throughout the country. My son currently attends Spalding High School and when I walk in I immediantely go to the office as I see the sign that says “All visitors must report to office” to sign myself in. However, anyone could walk in there anytime and decide not to go to the office to sign in and do whatever damage they choose to do. More must be done to protect our children.

— I’d like to express my appreciation for all the work that Wayne Lapierre and his staff at the NRA do making it possible for anyone to buy any kind of gun.

— The money to help with the rebuild after Sandy is still held up by Congress. The difference between Speaker Boehner and the Grinch is one of them is Orange and the other is Green.

— Brent Foster gave me a good idea, when my employer calls me to do the job he pays me to do I will tell him that it is a waste of my time and gas. It must work, Brent Foster still has a job.

— You may like or dislike “My Two Cents” but be very thankful for your First Amendment right to freedom of speech.

— How much will the city spend on changing the city’s image? How much for repainting all the police vehicles and other city vehicles? How much to change signage? How much to reprint all the stationery and other office items? How much was a consultant paid for the new plan? Couldn’t a large group of “stakeholders” have come up with some ideas of their own or did they just have social time together?

— Did all you city employees and city residents read the headline article in the Griffin paper on Tuesday? How does your income compare with what the city of Griffin plays the city manager?

— I agree 100 percent with everything that Connie Pound posted on her Facebook page that was recently mentioned in the newspaper. She too was just exercising her First amendment rights. All one has to do to see what she is talking about is go to the places where they will be handing out free toys and free food for Christmas and just look around at who is there to get the free handouts. The vast majority of the people receiving those freebies are taking advantage of other’s generosity. It’s the very reason I never donate to any charity anymore. Their mentality is “A Mouth Full Of Gimme’ and A Hand Full Of Grab.”

Jesus said the poor would always be with us which means it will not be the same people all the time. Perhaps, you may be doing well today but by this time next year; you, too could be in one of the lines asking for freebies.

The Hand of God will always defend and preserve the land of Israel. The United States of America is NOT noted in the last days according to the Bible. Wake up people! The King is coming! Are you ready to go? If you are not ready, call me,

I will show you the way!

Outlaw guns? In just 15 minutes u can buy a gun from any gang member off the street. If guns are outlawed then only those people will have guns. I have guns to keep my family safe, not to rob or hold someone up with. More strict laws against those that commit crims would be better, over taxed police cant be eveywhere> Keep my guns yes, protect my loved ones yes, dispatch a robber u better believe it, outlaw guns NO if u break in to my place they will take u out in a bag, come in but try to get out without a extra hole in u.
