• I continue to read in The Griffin Daily News about commissioners using the word “fee” as though there will be no additional cost to Spalding County taxpayers. Ultimately any increase in costs to all entities involved will be passed on to consumers and taxpayers through increases in utility bills and payments for services.

• Gay marriage is not a bad idea. After two generations there would be no Democrats left.

• Studies have shown that cats have the intelligence level of a 3-year-old child, while dogs have the intelligence level of a 2-year-old child. I would say that the intelligence level of My Two Cents contributors is in between the two.

• I think we need a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy for marriage in the United States.

• After the friendly fire incident some months ago, Pakistan closed the supply routes to our military in Afghanistan. We use to pay $250 per container to move the cargo over their country now they want $5,000 to resume. I wish this so-called president would act like he has some muscle and tell the Pakistanis since they cut off our military we are cutting them off. They cannot trade with us, their citizens cannot visit this country, they will not be receiving any aid from us, and we will target militants in their country whenever we feel like it.

• I would like the Griffin Daily News to print an explanation of the 7 percent sales tax, each percent of it. How much is each percent raising each month? How can we possibly destroy over 100 houses for the airport and still raise enough money to pay for it?

• To the person that stated in My Two Cents that they have never seen a gay person except on TV, I think it’s time for you to come out of the closest or else come out from under a rock.

• The senior citizens have earned a new center. Over the years, we have supported all of the SPLOSTs. Without us, you would not have had the University of Georgia expansion, updated communications, new schools and industrial parks.

• We need to consider what it is costing us on a city, county and state level for take-home vehicles. Our county and city vehicles can be seen in other counties 20 to 30 miles away and several vehicles are being driven here from other counties. The people want to know what it is costing us.

• Is valet golf cart parking included in my $100 reserved table fee for June Jam on Saturday night?

• Mitt Romney says that Russia is our No. 1 enemy. I wonder where he was on 9/11? Even Sarah Palin knows better than that.

• I am tired of my taxes going up.
