• It was overheard at McDonald’s on Taylor Street that homeless shelters are only for tornado victims and fire victims, and that lazy individuals that can’t or “don’t want to work” shouldn’t be allowed to stay there. She said she was “someone in the county and was about to get it told.” I can’t wait to hear more from her at this time.

• President Obama calling Paul Ryan’s budget plan a Trojan horse is so laughable. He, Obama, used a Trojan horse to get into the White House and since that very day, he has back-roomed every conceivable plan to destroy this nation. I so wish all you people who voted for him would have taken the time to read everything about him.

• My husband and I are retired after 40- and 38-year careers, respectively. We go to the supermarket, the hair salon, and anywhere else we want to go, whenever we want to. If we get in your way, tough. We managed to work, raise our children and lead productive lives by making the best use of our time.

• It seems our justice system has taken on a new policy called “guilty until proven innocent.” Chris Matthews, Nancy Grace, Spike Lee, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, The New Black Panthers, Wolf Blitzer and Shepard Smith are directors of this policy.

• I take issue with Mr. Kendall’s statement that nobody will say a word or lift a finger to correct the children’s grammar. That’s an unfair generalization. I am a math teacher and I’m well known for correcting students’ grammar. Furthermore, Col. Dr. Jones was right when he said correct grammar must be demonstrated in the home by the parents if we want students to be able to speak and write the English language correctly. If there is no appreciation for correct grammar usage in the home, the student has no motivation for learning it.

• Once the TSPLOST is defeated on July 31, we won’t have to worry any more about wasting money on the 155 extension, the toy train or the unneeded new airport. Hallelujah.

• I would like to thank the Three Rivers Commission for having the TSPLOST at the inconvenient early time of 7:30 a.m. so that no one would get up to attend. Also, having the vote on July 31 when so many people will be out of town on vacation so that they think it will pass due to low voter turnout. The commission is just as sneaky as the Obama government.

• I am 65. How can Medicare and Social Security be called entitlements when I paid for these services through 35 years of payroll deductions?

• Has the re-evaluation of property stated? Has anyone had their home inspected by the appraisers yet? I haven’t heard anyone say that the appraisers have been by their home. Was this just more hot air from the county BOC to appease us? Just another lie, it will never be done and the property values will be taxed at the same value yet another year. Thanks you Spalding Obama BOC.

• The article on the TSPLOST was the biggest waste of ink I’ve ever seen. What a spin. Traffic circles on Experiment Street. Why? Waste, waste. Tell a lie enough times and it will become the truth. Like someone would actually walk from Sun City to the UGA campus. That’s quite a hike.

• There are a lot of goobers in the world. Unfortunately, many of them write in to My Two Cents.
