• Now that Griffin has a new bridge downtown, it would be nice to see the city and railroad coordinate together to clean up along the tracks in the city. They could start in East Griffin and go all the way through downtown and up to the UGA campus. Getting rid of the scrap metal, gravel piles, old cross ties and overgrown wooded areas would make the city look a lot nicer.

• Outlawing so-called “assault” weapons will stop killings about as much as prohibiting sales of alcoholic drinks stronger than beer would stop “drunk driving.”

• Just read that Clinton (Hillary) and Barack are starting a new program to fight AIDS at a cost of millions and maybe billions. I have a “message” to stop AIDS for free. Change your lifestyles.

• I read in the newspaper that police used a Taser on a dog. I hope they read the dog his rights.
