Janie Y. Hilgeman, 92, formerly of Atlanta and Richmond, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct 21, 2012.
Janie was a professional model, her career spanning five decades. She loved the outdoors, animals, people, a good time, her family and the Lord.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa, and husband James Jenkins; of Griffin, son, Michael Young and his wife, Susan, of Fayetteville; and 12 grandchildren, Jason Jenkins, of Nashville, Tenn.; Will Highsmith, of Atlanta; Elizabeth Highsmith, of Fayetteville; David Jenkins, of Dothan, Ala.; Melanie Jenkins, of Milner; Laura Jenkins, of McDonough; and Stephanie, Matthew, Zachary, Joshua, Luke and Cameron Jenkins, of Griffin; nieces, Karen Darnell, of Roswell; Shirley Cantrell, of Valdosta; and her extended family of the past five years at Brightmoor Nursing Center.
Janie looked forward to her home in heaven and left her body to Emory University School of Medicine.
Her memorial service will be Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Joy, 3080 Highway 362, Williamson, with Pastor Ron Laney, followed by a reception for friends and family.

Ethel Kate Williams was born on July 10, 1925 to the late John Jackson Williams and Bertha Driver Williams. She is proceeded in death by three brothers, Artis Driver, Eddie Beckham, and JB Beckham and one sister Essie Ison.
She is survived by two sisters, Louise Edwards of Decatur GA and Jeanie Mae Dukes of Orlando Florida.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters Joan Williams, Barbara Jean Collier, and Bertha Mae Ambles all of Griffin GA and one son, Ricky Williams (Shirley Williams) of Acworth GA. She also leaves six grandchildren to cherish her memories, Shawn Williams (Natalie Williams), Craig Ponder of Griffin, Maurice Ponder of Atlanta, Michelle Willis, Joycelyn Collier of Griffin, and Jaclyn Collier of Zebulon; seven great children and one great great grandson.
Funeral services for Ethel Kate Williams will be conducted on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Sanford Brooks, 84, of Barnesville, passed away Wednesday, Oct.31, 2012 at his residence. A native of Haralson County, he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. Miller Dave Brooks and the late Mrs. Millie Rose Strickland Brooks, by his wife, the late Mrs. Elsie Mae Nicholas Brooks, and by four children, Jimmy Nicholas, Sarah Ritchie, Brenda Brooks, and Carol Brooks, and by several brothers and sisters. Mr. Brooks retired four years ago, at age 80, having been self-employed as a plumber, electrician, and HVAC specialist. He was a member of The Barnesville Revival Center.
Survivors include four daughters, Lea Kendrick (and Johnny) of Monticello, Pam Golden (and George) of Barnesville, Sandra Lohnes (and David) of Barnesville, and Frances Smith (and Dwight) of Barnesville; three sons, Bill Brooks of Barnesville, Sam Brooks (and Kathy) of Barnesville, and David Brooks (and Lun) of Barnesville; two sisters, Margie Brinkley (and Ray) of Barnesville and Joyce Haire of Barnesville; one brother, Harvey Reese of Barnesville; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Sanford Brooks will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 3 p.m. in the Barnesville Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.
