ATLANTA — A cold shooting night doomed the Spalding Jaguars boys basketball team, as it fell 79-41 to the No. 4 ranked South Atlanta Hornets in Region 4-AAA action Friday night.
The Jags (14-8 overall, 12-4 region) didn’t play well offensively and didn’t help out in the post as Hornets big man Nickalus Jacobs torched the Jags for 26 points.
Jacobs only scored 10 against Spalding on Jan. 23 at SHS.
The iron was unkind to the Jags, as they went 4-of-31 from 3-point range against South Atlanta (21-2, 15-1). The Jags still control their destiny — if they win out, they finish second in the region and get an automatic bid to the state playoffs.
