The Griffin Police Department (GPD) responded to Spalding Regional Medical Center Sunday at about 1:45 a.m. in reference to an assault that had already occurred.

When officers arrived at the hospital, they made contact with the victim — a 16-year-old male juvenile — who stated to police that earlier in the day, he and his younger brother were walking in the area of West Quilly Street and Belle Street.

As the two started walking along a path that led to West Quilly Street, they were stopped by two intoxicated juveniles who advised them not to go down that path, the victim stated according to a GPD incident report.
