I write this letter to address what I see as what is wrong with America.
In the 50 years I have been on this planet I have seen more than my fair share of government waste. Let me explain what I mean. We go to war in another nation for various reasons, we then spend a massive amount of money fixing up that country, when all is said and done.
When will our politicians realize that it isn’t our job to fix those other countries? Did Japan help restore our great land after they bombed Pearl Harbor, or did Iraq or Iran help rebuild the World Trade Center or pay for the funerals of those who died in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001? The answer is no, but other countries continue to take and take from the American people because those in political office seem to feel obligated to dish out American money to other places than where it should be, and that is creating jobs and homes and building where there is a need.
We need to stop paying the way of other countries and keep our money where it is, in America. We have people in our own country who live on the streets, who are jobless and who have medical and other needs but we are so concerned about what we can do for Iran, Iraq or India and other lands, and less concerned about our own people. We have these fat cats in Washington who fly around making empty promises about what they will do when they are elected, but they are full of hot air. They believe the lies they spit out and forget about the American people who put them in office and once an election is over it’s same as usual.
When will we as a people stop electing the same morons who are robbing this country by filling their own wallets and bank accounts with money they really don’t earn by doing what is right for America?
Look at Obama, he has ruined more than he has helped our country and the politicians can’t even agree on one issue without the threat of shutting down our government or not paying such things as VA benefits, Social Security or government retirees because there isn’t enough money. Why don’t all of them simply agree to a pay cut and put half their salaries and benefits back into the kitty to help fix the problems?
If I were to run for office I can’t see taking a fat cat salary and benefits knowing that we have people here who will do without because I am paid far more than 100 families will make in a year.
I recently was in a convenience store where the owner is Indian and when talking about the United States, he replied Americans are morons and the United States is a joke. I turned to him and said, “Sir, if you’re not happy here, then get on a plane and go home and take your family with you who came to my country and leave.”
I am tired of those who are not born here but rather come here for what our government gives them and trash our people and country. It is high time we as a people who are American-born stand up and say stop wasting our dollars on other nations and keep it here in America.
