Six local players were named to the All-Region 4-AAAA basketball team released this week, including three named All-Region second team and three others All-Region honorable mention.

Those named second-team All-Region included: Spalding High’s Alex Bonner on the boys team and Twandalette Cotton on the girls team as well as Griffin High’s Shacoria Jones on the girls team.

Those named honorable mention included: Spalding High’s Desiree Corbin on the girls team as well as Griffin High’s Kelvin Waldon on the boys team and Chelsea Prather on the girls team.

The boys Player of the Year is Eric Wortham of Eagle’s Landing, while the Coach of the Year was Coach of the Year was Clay Crump also of Eagle’s Landing. The girls Player of the Year is Domonique Clune of Dutchtown, while the girls Coach of the Year is Ashley Maddox of Woodland-Stockbridge.
