A 44-year-old Griffin woman was transported to Spalding Regional Medical Center after the grey Kia she was driving flipped over Wednesday afternoon.

Driver Tracy Lee Heckman was travelling south on Shoal Creek Road when the accident occurred. According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper William Schwab, it appeared that Heckman lost control of the car when she came out of curve.

“I believe she negotiated that curve and came out of it a little to hot and failed to maintain her lane,” Schwab said. “She ran off into the ditch and struck the culvert head on. From first observation, it looks like she turned sideways, struck the pine trees and flipped over.”

Heckman’s 3-year-old grandson was a passenger in the car, but was not injured.
