According to the Barnesville Police Department (BPD), a Gordon College student was killed Saturday during a house party at his residence on Westchester Drive.

Danavan Bussey, 21, of Milledgeville, was shot in the face and pronounced dead at the hospital, said BPD Capt. Craig Cooper.

Police on Sunday arrested Shameik Spinks, 17, Lekievius Eleby, 21, and Bryce Smith, 20.

Cooper said the suspects went in to rob the residence, “and evidently it got out of hand.” No one else at the party was injured, he said, adding that the incident is still under investigation.

All three suspects were charged with robbery and murder and are being held at the Lamar County Detention Center.
