Officials with the Georgia State Patrol-Griffin Post are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver responsible for an early Tuesday morning hit-and-run.

According to Trooper 1st Class Michael Burns, the incident occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. on Seago Drive, south of Bleachery Street.

“The suspect was a black male with a black female passenger in a blue, older-model, boy-style Chevrolet Caprice,” Burns said.

The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Seago Drive.

Authorities say the victim, 37-year-old Windy Chambers, of Griffin, sustained substantial injuries to her arms, legs and head.

“Hopefully, someone will come forward with some information,” Burns said. “If anyone has any information, they can contact me at the post at 770-229-3410.”
