— Does anyone know what the recess policy in Griffin-Spalding County schools is? I know of some teachers that never let their children go out for recess. Is this procedure against the rules?

— All is right with the world, News of Yesteryear is back in The Griffin Daily News.

— I really had to laugh when I read the comments against Sunday alcohol sales. This is the year 2011, not 1811. These people probably attend churches where they still do snake-handling.

— Here’s a suggestion on how to solve the crisis in Egypt, Barack Obama can get them all together and have a beer summit.

— No wonder nothing ever gets done by the county, with the way the county commission acts like a bunch of first-graders. No, wait, that’s an insult to first-graders.

— Just a word to the wise. If you have your income taxes prepared and do not get a copy of the return — electronic or paper filed, you are most likely being scammed. If you don’t know what your refund should be, how do you know it is right? Ask for a copy and if you don’t get it, do not let them file for you.

— A warning to all NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers. Accident-prone Danica Patrick has announced that she will be driving in several Nationwide races this year. I guess that the Nationwide Series officials are afraid to ban her from racing because she is pretty.

If you want to know the recess policy at the school your child attends then call the principal of the school and ask.

What's the matter dipstick, are you afraid Danica might win? She has proven her ability to perform, have you?

Regarding alcohol sales on Sunday: yes Sunday is the Sabbath for some religions and Saturday is the Sabbath for other religions. Should we ban Saturday sales as well as Sunday? Drinkers are going to drink no matter what day it is. Banning sales on certain days will not stop them. I am for Sunday sales, we need the taxes and businesses need the income. BTW, I am not a drinker.
