Mr. Ison was a member of Christ’s Church at Whitewater. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Ison; daughter, Judy Cochran and her husband Kevin of Williamson; four grandchildren; brothers, Charles Ison and his wife Peggy of Fayetteville, and Bobby Ison and his wife Susie of Brooks; sister, Annie Lou Fisher of Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Jack Smith officiating and Willie Lamb interpreting. Burial will follow at Brooks Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the deaf ministry at Christ’s Church at Whitewater, 1577 Georgia Highway 85 South, Fayetteville, GA 30215.
