The Spalding High tennis teams ended the regular season Thursday splitting with visiting Union Grove, the Lady Jags losing 3-2 and the Jags winning 3-2.

Scoring points for the Class AAA No. 10-state ranked Jags (13-3 overall) in the non-region match were Brett Piland (8-1) at No. 1 singles, Andrew Winter (8-5) at No. 3 singles and Coleman Johnson and Bobby Peek (8-6) at No. 1 doubles.

It was the third win in a row for the Jags, while the Lady Jags had a modest two-match win streak snapped.

Scoring points for the Lady Jags (12-4 overall) were Laura Ann Mabbett (6-4, 3-6, 10-8) at No. 2 singles, and Caroline Hearn and Mackenzie King (2-6, 6-2, 11-9) at No. 2 doubles.

Spalding’s next match is the Region 4-AAA tournament April 13 in Lovejoy, Ga.
