I believe you are misunderstanding my point. My point is that he should have never been released without physical supervision at all times. He has proven to not be able to function in society many times yet he keeps being given the oppurtunity to strike again. TowTrucking, you are so right! He could have been shot. I have said this time and time again. Unfortunatly, jail isn't a safe place for him either. He is not smart enough to keep his mouth closed. He gets beat up and I'm afraid when they lock him in prison he will be killed. It's a terrible situation. Again, I'm not excusing him for his actions. I'm stating do to his mental disabilities he was promised hospitaliztion and then was released. This was probably close the 10th time in his life he's been arrested and released. When do they quit giving him the oppurtunity to break the law?!? Obviously, he's not going to learn..

I have a "Mentally Challenged" child Too. He is not ot stealing from other People. People are all ways using this as an excuse. This guy knew what he was doing because he had tools. Now he will be in Jail on our TAX DOLLAR. That is the safest place for him, As many people that were carring guns the protect there property after the Tornado, Next time he might not be so lucky. As many people to claim to have a "Illness" that live within Walking distance from Christians Womens center, I bet they did not steal from there.

Nicole,

As a matter of fact I have a son that was "labeled" mentally challanged and was told he couldn't do anything without being in special classes so far to the point that he competed in special Olympics for a few years. He now takes NO medication for his ADHD nor did he graduate with a diploma for 'attendance' he graduated with a DIPLOMA and took all of his graduation test on his own. It was a long hard battle but it definately worked for him. Oh and by the way he not only does he hold one job; he is out looking for a second jobs to support himself.. he is not out stealing from others; especially tornado victims. Has he heard ever done drugs and drank sure, BUT he realized that was NOT the life or the execuses he wanted made for him!

Several comments here: To the kind individual who texted my child complaining about what I said here... I didn't use any names, did I ? However, your texting her to complain, confirmed what I said about his drug trafficking. I was just fishing - thanks for letting me know I was right on the money. And I said nothing about your niece, merely that I felt sorry for her. Which I do. Your idiot brother has zero marketable skill, and a criminal record. And he is responsible for the health and welfare of another human being, but is not capable of shouldering that responsibility - which leaves you, your Mom, and your grandparents to do that. How sweet of him to put you in that position, wasn't it? If you and your family wish to keep bailing him out for the rest of his life, thats your business. Its your money, and your emotional roller coaster to ride. Or you can stop enabling him to be a criminal - and force him to grow up and be the man he claims to be. Being a father is more than simply impregnating some unsuspecting girl - its providing for the childs needs, financially and emotionally. Its up to you. As far as how he feels about the situation HE put himself in ... I could care less about his feelings, or what he and his little "ride or die" buddies think of me. Your brother and his friends ... are busy ensuring that the police have plenty of work to keep them occupied, so at least their tax dollars are helping to improve the world. Hopefully that will offset the fact that THIEVES and DRUG DEALING SCUMBAGS don't pay taxes and don't contribute anything to society but pain and suffering.

So what about the rest of these low life scum? Are they borderline retarded too? 19 and 20 year old thieves - I hope they throw them in jail and lose the key. The one that had the gun, he should go away for a long time for sure. Let's find out how long it takes Spalding Co's finest to let these 5 go. Are you aware that homes are being broken into daily in broad daylight? I want to know if these are the guys who have been doing it.

As a family member based on your age you could get your brother as much help as the county could. Why are people always looking for handouts?

And for the record I am his younger sister. So, if you were trying to stab at me for not "raising" him right I don't think I'm your girl. When I say he had a terrible childhood I mean due to his illness and limited funds to get him help. I think my mother tried to do what she could be my mother is also ill. She suffers from a mental illness.

No I believe it is the counties job to protect us. If they keep letting him out of custody he will continue to hurt people and be destructive. He is a mentaly disabled person so I'm not saying he should be in jail. I'm saying he belongs in a hopital. He was even told he was going to be hospitalized and then never was.

So let me see if I get this straight, because Mr. Everett had such a hard life and was not raised right by his family it is now the county's problem to "fix" him?

I am the sister of Brandon Everett. I would like to inform the public this man is mentally retarded person. He has been in trouble all of his life. He suffered a terrible childhood and lived his entire adult hood on the street or in jail. He was recently released from jail on a plea that was absolutely impossible for him to abide by. He has been tested for disabilities and has an IQ just borderline retarded. This is much harder than dealing with a physically retarded person. You can't hold his hand and do things for him. He's capable of walking away. It is unfortunate for him that the county promised him help. He waited two years to be admitted to the hospital from the jail. After waiting and going stir crazy he was offered the plea to be on probation for 15 years. I do not know why they think this time is any different from the rest of his life. He's still the same mentally challenged boy he's always been! He needs professional help! The county should be held just as responsible for allowing him back on the street to commit anymore crimes! Enough people have suffered. As his sister I am terribly depressed over my brother's situation. But I am also terribly concerned and in pain over the people he has hurt and cost. The authorities who chose to send him back out in our county to strike again are NOT doing their job so consider them even lower!

Its about time that one of them - who shall remain nameless, was picked up for something that might stick. Hopefully the time and money and energy he spends defending himself from this charge will cut into the time he devotes to his drug trafficking business. I do feel sorry for his little daughter.
