— Those who attack people in a personal way if you contribute to the GDN “My Two Cents” column, tells a lot about your own person. Citizens who vent are not uneducated or stupid, as you suggest. We are not blind sheep who have no opinion to offer except to attack other people. If you don’t like what people are saying, don’t read the section.

— Here is a tax issue that has not been addressed. This is the first year that Atlanta Motor Speedway has had one race instead of two. How much money will Spalding County lose because of this loss from motel taxes, restaurant food and alcohol taxes and retail sales tax?

— Question. When a young girl has a child out of wedlock, why should we as taxpayers bear the financial responsibility of raising her child? Please understand that I have no issue with our government providing financial support to those in need, but it should not be in the form of a gift.

— Michele Bachmann is a babe, but I would rather have a president who is less attractive and who is sane.

— I heard that there is going to be a womanless wedding in Griffin. I think that civil unions are OK, but it is wrong to recognize a marriage between two men.

It's comments like the "womanless wedding" that cause people to rag on this column. The womanless wedding is a fund raiser where local well known gentleman show up in drag for a silly show at Taylor Street Auditorium. A bit strange, I admit, but all in good fun and for a good cause. Do your homework before you put pen to paper.
