The Griffin Police Department (GPD) on Monday responded to an assault that had occurred on Ellis Road.

Police officers were dispatched to Spalding Regional Medical Center, where they made contact with 18-year-old Jose Duran, of Griffin, who said he had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend earlier that day at a residence on Ellis Road.

According to the GPD incident report, Duran said that he and his girlfriend were on the bed trying to talk about an issue when his girlfriend stood up. Duran admitted hitting his girlfriend in the knee, which caused her to fall down.
