Jake Farrell fired a 4-over 40 and Dalton Thiel added a 6-over 42 to lead Faith Christian Academy to a 175-220 victory against visiting Creekside Christian on Thursday at the Griffin Country Club in the season opener.

Faith Christian Academy Lions head coach Bob Chappell was pleased with his team’s overall score.

“Our best score last year was 172 and that was late in the year,” he said.

Rounding out Faith Christian’s top golfers were Chris Flake (45) and Justin Lewis (48).

“After the round they started counting missed shots and realized they could have shot a 162 or 165 which would have easily won in our league on any day,” said Chappell, whose team plays in the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia and Alabama Athletic Association (ICSGA).

The Lions next match is March 19 on the road against Cumberland Christian at the Dogwood Golf Club in Austell, Ga.
