On Friday night, police officers observed a blue Ford Taurus — traveling east on East Solomon Street and trying to turn onto Jackson Lane — running a stop sign. As officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Jackson Lane and Clayton Street, they noticed that the hands of the driver — identified as 18-year-old Charles Hestley, of Griffin — were shaking.
When asked if he was nervous, Hestley said he wasn’t and consented to officers searching the vehicle. The search resulted in officers finding two white pills and four capsules in a cigarette box as well as a clear plastic bag with a green, leafy substance, later identified as marijuana.
