The Griffin Police Department (GPD) on Tuesday evening was dispatched to a residence on North 14th Street in reference to a report of a burglary.

When police officers arrived at the residence, they made contact with the victim, a 51-year-old black male, who stated that when he arrived home, he noticed that someone had forced his way into the residence through the back door and had stolen some jewelry from the master bedroom.

Officers conducted a walk-through of the house and determined that the back door was indeed the entry and exit point used by the burglar.
