As part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, the Griffin Police Department’s (GPD) Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and Special Response Team (SRT) conducted a knock-and-announce search warrant at 509 N. Third St. shortly before noon on April 19.

According to the GPD incident report, the scope of the search included looking for illegal narcotics, cocaine, U.S. currency, firearms and anything commonly associated with the sale and distribution of narcotics.

At the time police executed the search warrant, 43-year-old Vincent Dennis was located in the living room of the residence. Dennis was handcuffed and placed in a room of the carport while officers began searching for evidence.
