If the second reading is approved, the county will require permits for use of amplification outside and limiting times of use for construction activity, vehicle repair and recreational motor vehicles. The change also include fees for the permit, with $25 for requests under five hours and $50 for those more than five hours.
Community Development will be allowed to issue permits for events held for less than five hours or between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. But events more than five hours or going past 9 p.m. will be required to be approved the Board of Commissioners and require 30 days notice.
The board is also scheduled to hold second and final readings on several zoning changes including for a new church on 8 acres off Carver Road; a change to heavy commercial for the old Honda dealership site on North Expressway and changes in the county ordinance for mother-in-law suites.
The board is also scheduled to vote again on changing the speed limit on Jordan Hill Road, this time making in 45 miles per hour from Dobbins Mill Road to the Henry County Line. This will only be the first reading and a second reading will be required before the change is enacted.
The commissioners will also consider memorandum of understanding agreements for the Spalding County Office of Homeland Security with the Kiwanis Club of Griffin, Griffin-Spalding County Airport and Carver Road Baptist Church to provide services/facilities during a mass fatality incident as well as to adopt the Spalding County Mass Fatality Plan as the procedure for managing mass fatalities occurring in Spalding County and authorize the Spalding County Office of Homeland Security to maintain said plan.
The Board will also consider adoption of the Spalding County StormReady Hazardous Weather Plan for managing hazardous weather operations occurring in Spalding County and authorize the Spalding County Office of Homeland Security to maintain said plan.
Also on the agenda for Monday’s meeting which begins at 6 p.m. in Room 208 of the Spalding County Courthouse Annex, is consideration bids for asphalt paving, curb and gutter, storm drain, accel/decel lane and striping for new Senior Citizens Center on Memorial Drive. The board is scheduled to discuss the status of the request for proposal for HVAC services for county buildings.
