The Griffin Board of Commissioners on Tuesday tabled a request for a church in a warehouse.

Apostle Ulysses Cochran of Class Bible Study of Jesus Christ Discipleship has been renting the warehouse behind a gas station and convenience store on Meriwether Street to be the headquarters for his ministry. Cochran said he is currently the only one in his ministry and said it would not be attracting a lot of people.

Cochran told commissioners he only expects to be at the location for about six months.

The commissioners didn’t have a problem with the church or ministry, but had a lot of questions about the zoning request.
