The Spalding County Board of Appeals is scheduled to consider the expansion of the existing Thai Buddhist Temple on Steele Road.

Community Development Director Chad Jacobs said “this is as a result of the lawsuit from the previous denial, It’s the same application,” Jacobs said, “which has been remanded back through, by the court.”

The meeting begins at 7 p.m., Thursday, in Room 108 of the Spalding County Courthouse Annex, 119 E. Solomon St.

The previous request had been recommended for approval by this board last August, but was denied by the Spalding County Board of Commissioners over concerns about buildings and structures on the site built without permits and use of a storage building as an assembly hall.

It never ceases to amaze me how "freedom of religion" only EVER applies to one certain religion in this country.
