Mr. Ryan Hanson Awtry, of Milner, Ga., died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.
He was born Feb. 7, 1976, to David Warren Awtry and Gayle Crawley Awtry. He attended Rock Springs Church and enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, golf, cooking, singing karaoke, swimming, playing video games with his children, and spending time with his family and many friends.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Nikky Awtry; daughter, Morgan Awtry; son, Andrew Awtry; and stepdaughter, Aubrey Youngblood. He is survived also by his father, David Awtry; mother and stepfather, Gayle and Gene Shearouse; stepmother, Elizabeth Royeton; sisters, Wendy Ebetino, Jan Sneed, Crystal Lopez, Angela Hobby, Sandy Dillon; brother, Roy Cook; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Awtry; and special friend, Stacy Deriso; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Awtry Waller.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Sherrell Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Benny Tate officiating. Interment will be at Jackson City Cemetery. Mrs. Rebecca Reeves Hill
Sept. 17, 1914 – June 15, 2012
Mrs. Rebecca Reeves Hill, age 97, of Griffin, passed away on June 15, 2012, at Emory Hospital, Midtown.
Mrs. Hill was born in Molena, Ga., on Sept. 17, 1914, to the late George Andrews Reeves and the late Rosa Stribling Reeves. She was preceded in death by husband, Martin C. Hill. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Griffin, and was retired from Dundee Mills.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Marcine and Tommy Gresham of LaGrange, Ga., Jimmy and Debi Reeves of Germantown, Tenn., Jim and Tammy Hill of Griffin, Kathy and Thomas Thurston of Griffin, Ralph and Sara Steele of Griffin; several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Rebecca Reeves Hill will be conducted on Sunday, June 17, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. John M. Fulop Jr.
July 3, 1948 – June 12, 2012
Mr. John Michael Fulop Jr., age 63, of Griffin, Ga., passed away on June 12, 2012, at Atlanta Medical Center.
Mr. Fulop was born in New Brunswick, N.J., on July 3, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Michael Fulop Sr., and Ethel Koffity Fulop. John grew up in South River, N.J. He was a 1970 graduate of the University of Delaware, where he joined the Sigma Nu fraternity and played on the university’s football team. He was also a 1984 graduate of Wilmington College, where he received his master’s degree. He loved his church and his community and actively served both in various capacities throughout his life. He served as an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Griffin in the years following his family’s move to Griffin, in 1986. In recent years he was an active member and elder at Eagles Way Church in Griffin. In addition, he served on the board of directors for Grace Academy, and was also a member of Griffin Kiwanis, the Griffin Elks Lodge, and the Griffin Country Club, as well as the Georgia Nursing Home Association. Among other positions of employment, Mr. Fulop held that of chief financial officer at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware, CFO at Griffin Spalding Hospital, and vice president of ancillary services for Newnan Hospital. Most recently, he served as an administrator at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah. Mr. Fulop enjoyed his career in health services immensely. However, he loved his family most and enjoyed spending time with them above all else.
Survivors include his wife Lynn Fulop; son and daughter-in-law, John Michael III and Layna Fulop; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Kay and Jason Mulherin; grandchildren, Madolyn, Ella and Landon Fulop, Brooklyn Mulherin; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Edward Weischadle; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Butch Archer, Carol and Bob Wright, Beverly and Dave Yingling; he also leaves behind a number of cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. John M. Fulop Jr., will be on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, from 5 until 7 p.m., at Eagle’s Way Church, 100 Hudson Road, Griffin, GA 30224. Following the visitation funeral services will be conducted. Dr. Buren Goss and Dr. Spencer Fryer will officiate.

Mrs. Carolyn Pilcher Denman
June 3, 1926 – June 16, 2012
Mrs. Carolyn Pilcher Denman, 86, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Brightmoor Nursing Center.
Mrs. Denman was born in Spalding County on June 3, 1926, to the late Clark and Thelma Gill Putman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Alton “Bo” Denman and loving husband of 44 years and father of her five children, William “Bill” Pilcher, sisters Peggy Putman Algren and Maxine Putman Porter.
She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church of Griffin and recently shared to her children that she was saved at the age of 13 and was ready to see Jesus. She truly loved the Lord. Mrs. Denman loved gardening and watching her flowers grow and bloom in all their colorful splendor. She also loved to travel and see all of God’s amazing creations.
Mrs. Denman raised five children who loved her as dearly as she loved them. She was a wonderful mother. She will be missed not only by her family but everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Brightmoor Assisted Living, Brightmoor Nursing Center and Brightmoor Hospice as well as a very special thank you to a special friend Diane Norris.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Carol and Mac Taylor of Williamson, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Carol Pilcher of Rutledge, daughter Kathy Brake of Griffin, daughter and son in law Marcia and Bill Posten of Meansville, and son and daughter-in-law Mark and Sheron Pilcher of Griffin; grandchildren, Steve Bryant, Christy Mitchell, Kim Sitzmann, Nicki Brake-Mason, Emily Pilcher, Lane Pilcher and Lindy Pruitt; great grandchildren, Elija and Alex Bryant, Hunter, Turner, Cooper, and Zoe Mitchell, Katelyn and Kayla Mason, Kingsley, Collin and Clark Sitzmann as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Mrs. Carolyn Pilcher Denman will be conducted today, Sunday, June 17, 2012, at 4 p.m., in Westwood Gardens. Rev. John Nance will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 p.m., until time for the service. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 – I have fought long and hard for my Lord, and through it all I have kept true to Him. And now the time has come for me to stop fighting and rest. In Heaven a crown is waiting for me.
