The Griffin Police Department (GPD) responded to the area of Waterford Way Saturday at around 4 a.m. in reference to a suspicious person.

According to a GPD incident report, a member of the Spalding County Fire Department had observed a black male walking eastbound on Ellis Road, wearing a white T-shirt over his nose and face.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with the male — later identified as 36-year-old Antorio Douglas — and asked him why he was on a dark road in a residential area at 4 a.m. covering his face.
