Bureaucrats set regulations without thinking of the consequences

The debacle taking place at the Department of Motor Vehicles is another example of a federal bureaucracy setting regulations without thinking through the consequences.

People wishing to renew their driver’s licenses are encountering waits as long as six hours to accomplish what should be a simple task. Proving who you are requires more documentation that is needed to obtain a passport. The Department of Homeland Security, in an attempt to protect us from possible terrorists, is making the majority of us jump through the bureaucratic hoops to thwart a small minority. When counterfeit driver’s licenses are easily obtainable I fail to see the value of making honest people unhappy. In elementary school, we learned that if one kid misbehaved, it was wrong to punish the whole class.

This is a typical reaction of thoughtless bureaucrats. One person tried to blow up an airplane with a malfunctioning shoe bomb and now millions of honest air passengers mus remove their shoes to pass through airpots security. One guy tried to blow up another plane with an underpants bomb, therefore, shouldn’t we all have to remove our underwear before boarding a plane. I dread the day when a terrorist tries to blow up a plane with explosives inserted up his colon. Talk about an invasion of privacy.
