Members of the Spalding County Fire Department have been available during early voting to assist residents who want to sign up for the FirstCall Emergency Alert System. County Manager William Wilson Jr. said more than 2,200 people are now signed up with 200 signing up during the first week of early voting.
That will continue at the early voting site in the old Cooks Shopping Center at 825 Memorial Drive, Wilson said. He told members of the Spalding County Board of Commissioners that Brightmoor Hospice has donated space on its billboard on Georgia Highway 92 to promote the free alert service.
