A fundraiser will be held for 50-year-old Concord resident Leslie Brown, who received a liver and kidney transplant on April 21 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. The fundraiser will take place on Aug. 11 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Christ Chapel Youth Center on Highway 19 in Zebulon.

The proceeds of the event, which is organized by friends of the family, will help the Brown family with the cost of required medication. Highlights that day will include live entertainment, games for children, a cake auction, a raffle, door prizes and barbecue plates.
