A burglary on Ellis Road left the victim with a loss of more than $1,600 in stolen items, according to a Griffin Police Department (GPD) incident report.

Police officers responded to the incident Tuesday at about 2:15 a.m. — minutes after it was reported by the 38-year-old female victim — and determined that the suspects had entered the residence through the west window, where an air conditioning unit was installed.

The a/c unit was pushed into the residence, with the window now closed.

The victim stated to police that she left the residence with her children at around 7 p.m. the day before. When she returned that morning, she first noticed the a/c unit missing, then walked through the front door to find several other items missing inside the home, walked back outside and called the police.
